Design Tips for Perfect Cards
Follow these guidelines to ensure your artwork prints exactly as you expect.
Use CMYK color mode
RGB colors look different when printed. Convert your design to CMYK before submitting to avoid unexpected color shifts on press.
Add a 0.125" bleed
Extend your background color or images 1/8" beyond the trim edge so no white edges appear if the cut shifts slightly.
Keep text in the safe zone
Keep all important text and logos at least 0.125" away from the trim edge. Elements too close risk being cut off.
Set resolution to 300 DPI
Low-resolution images look blurry when printed. Use 300 DPI for photos. Logos should be vector (EPS/AI/SVG) for crisp printing at any size.
Use fonts sparingly
Two fonts — one for headings, one for body — keeps your card clean and readable. Minimum 8pt font size for readability.
Include a QR code
A QR code linking to your website, LinkedIn, or booking page turns a business card into an interactive touchpoint. Keep it at least 1" × 1" for reliable scanning.
