How can I get the best results with Raised Foil business cards |
For optimal Raised Foil results on your business cards, keep foil coverage under 30% of the total card area. Exceeding this can cause the foil to appear wavy and reduce the overall quality. Up to 50% coverage is acceptable only with patterns, thin strokes, or small shapes.
Ideally, no single foil area should exceed about 1 inch by 1 inch. Always use a solid color behind the foil mask — artwork or text underneath the foil may show through. Avoid knockouts in the foil area, as there can be a slight registration shift during the foil application process.
For font sizes in your Raised Foil artwork, we recommend no smaller than 10pt for regular weight fonts, and no smaller than 12pt for bold or thick-stroke fonts. This ensures the foil reproduces cleanly with crisp, readable detail.
