Akuafoil is a specialty printing technique that converts CMYK colors into multi-colored metallic foil. Unlike traditional foil stamping, which applies a single metallic color, Akuafoil lays a processed foil layer under your full-color print, producing a vibrant metallic effect across your entire design. You will need two files: your regular CMYK print file and a mask file with solid 100% black where Akuafoil should appear and white where it should not. A few key notes: Akuafoil works best on lighter CMYK colors — dark areas reduce metallic vibrancy. Avoid very thin lines or small text. Use sans-serif fonts above 12pt. Akuafoil on white produces a plain silver look; include at least 15% black in the CMYK area for a better silver effect. To avoid a white halo at knockouts, grow or stroke the Akuafoil mask area by 1 point so it slightly overlaps the CMYK.
