    Specialty Printing FAQ

Common questions about premium finishes, substrates, and specialty products

Painted edge cards feature a thick paper stock (typically 32pt or 48pt) with color applied to the exposed edges, creating a striking layered look. The edge color can match your brand palette or complement the card design. This premium finish is popular with creative professionals, luxury brands, and executives who want to make a memorable first impression.
We offer saddle-stitch (stapled), perfect binding (glued spine), spiral/coil binding, and wire-o binding. Saddle-stitch works best for booklets up to 64 pages. Perfect binding is ideal for catalogs and thicker publications. Spiral and wire-o binding allow booklets to lay flat, making them great for manuals, planners, and reference guides.
Yes. Beyond standard coated and uncoated stocks, we print on cotton, linen, kraft, metallic/pearlescent, translucent vellum, synthetic (waterproof), and recycled papers. We also offer duplex (two-layer) stocks that feature a different color or finish on each side. Contact us with your project details and we will recommend the best substrate.
Spot UV is a high-gloss, clear coating applied to specific areas of a printed piece — such as a logo, headline, or graphic element — to create contrast and visual interest. It works especially well on matte-laminated business cards, postcards, and folders where the shiny spot UV pops against the matte background.
Submit your booklet as a single, multi-page PDF with pages in sequential order (not reader spreads). Set the document to the final trim size at 300 DPI in CMYK with 0.125" bleed on all sides. Our prepress team handles imposition and will contact you if any adjustments are needed.
Standard production is 5–7 business days for most specialty items, including painted edge cards, booklets, and custom die-cut pieces. Simpler products like letterhead and rack cards typically produce in 3–5 business days. Rush options are available on select products — contact us for expedited timelines.
Yes. We can store your printed materials in our facility and ship quantities on demand as you need them. This is ideal for businesses with multiple locations or ongoing marketing programs that require consistent inventory of letterhead, notepads, rack cards, and branded materials.
Minimum quantities vary by product. Painted edge cards start at 250, booklets at 25, notepads at 10, and letterhead at 100 sheets. Digital printing allows cost-effective short runs, while offset printing delivers the best value at quantities of 1,000 or more. We provide pricing for any quantity so you can compare options.
